Types of Home Office Air Conditioning

Air conditioning systems have many different variations in quality, price, and features, and that’s why it might not be 100% clear which one is right for your circumstances. If you’re struggling to understand which what air conditioning unit would work for your home office, then this guide should help you decide.

Wall mounted Units:

Wall mounted air conditioning units are the most common type of air conditioning. They are cost effective and can be installed in almost any property. Another advantage of wall mounted air con units is the directness and speed they can heat or cool a space.

They are easily maintained and can be done less frequently than most other residential air conditioning systems as all you need to do is keep the filters clean!

Wall mounted air conditioning systems are an all-rounder financially. The installation costs are some of the cheapest of all air conditioning units and the running cost isn’t too expensive either.

These systems have great cooling power and are also environmentally friendly so if you’re looking to install one in your home, call us today!

Cassette Units:

Cassette Air Conditioning Unit

Cassette air conditioning units are a popular choice for offices and retail spaces with grid ceilings. Ceiling air conditioning units can blow out air in all four directions, without eliminating valuable wall space.

These systems are targeted towards commercial premises due to their size and power. Thankfully these systems can be hidden in a suspended ceiling, so nobody has to see anything other than the vents and it doesn’t take up any wall or floor space.

Commercial air conditioning systems are usually hard to maintain and usually need a qualified person to go in and clean. However, cassette air conditioning units are an exception as this system has easily replaceable filters and you just need to keep it free from dust.

The cassette air conditioning unit is very quiet and fast working so you can cool down the room quickly without your employees or customers having to talk over any loud humming or blowing.

Floor Mounted Units:

Floor mounted air conditioning systems are a type of residential cooling solution that is easily maintained due to its floor access and its inexpensive to install and run.

If you’re thinking of getting a floor mounted air conditioning unit, please consider the placement of it. When placing your unit you need to make sure that there isn’t too many things limiting the air flow of the unit. If there’s too much furniture blocking your lovely cool air, you can’t reap the benefits.

If you’re interested in getting a floor mounted air conditioning unit, we can help recommend the right area in your home and talk you through the process. Give our team a call today to find out more!

Ducted Systems:

Ducted systems are a very versatile air conditioning system due to the fact that they can be used in both residential and commercial buildings.

When installed in commercial settings, this unit can get a little more expensive due to the need for extra ducts and grills but installation for this type of unit is relatively inexpensive. This unit also needs regular maintenance done by professionals due to its complicated ducted systems.

This unit is the best choice if you’re looking for a low profile look with great efficiency and air quality.

If you’re having difficulties deciding on what air conditioning system is right for you then please get in touch with us today. Our team are highly knowledgeable about the units we offer so we can help you to make the right decision for your home or your business.

Multi-Split and VRF/VRV Systems:

If its a large building you’re looking to condition, VRF air conditioning systems are for you. One outdoor unit can control up to 64 indoor units! Multi air conditioning systems enable individual control of the temperature in each room, to maximise comfort while keeping running costs to a minimum. Air conditioning systems are often used as a replacement for central heating in commercial properties as they provide incredibly efficient year round temperature control.

Ceiling Mounted Units:

Ceiling mounted air conditioning units are a great solution to commercial cooling as they can blow cool air in 4 different directions so you don’t have any hot spots and can be hidden within a suspended ceiling.

The installation for ceiling mounted units is very quick and is reasonably inexpensive for a commercial unit that’s why it’s the go-to choice for most retail and restaurant businesses.

Maintenance for these units is minimal as it should function for years without any issues. All you need to do is regularly wipe the outer unit to prevent a build-up of dust entering the system.

Home Office Air Conditioning FAQs

What are the benefits of home office air conditioning?
Studies have shown that a room kept between 20 and 25 degrees Celsius can help improve productivity, with 21 degrees being the ‘sweet-spot’ and with a Chill Air conditioning unit, your home office can be kept at the perfect temperature all year round as all of our units have both, cooling and heating functionality!

In addition to increased productivity, our air conditioning units can help reduce the effects of certain health issues, such as asthma and allergies. The effects of allergies and asthma are reduced through the inclusion of ventilation and air filtration capabilities that help to keep the air in your home office clean and fresh.

Air conditioning is also very cost efficient and reliable. All of our units are A++ energy rated and have a 5 year warranty an all installations. On top of this, we will provide you with a demonstration on how to get the most out of your unit while keeping your running costs as low as possible.

Furthermore, air conditioning can help you save on your heating bills. Although air conditioning is traditionally installed to cool, room heat pumps are recognised as one of the most efficient forms of heating and cooling as the pumps simply moves heat, rather than generate it.
What are the best air conditioning units for home offices?
We offer a range of air conditioning units that are perfect for a variety of functions and office sizes. Our wall mounted units can be installed in almost any property and are cost effective, the advantage of this type of air conditioning unit is the speed and directness that they can deliver heat or cool a space such as a home office. Additionally, floor and ceiling mounted units are perfect for home offices that have limited wall space. They are a similar size to a radiator making them easy to fit into smaller spaces.

Where should my AC be positioned?
Although we don’t recommend customers fitting their own air conditioning units as our team of expert engineers will come and fit it for you, here are some things to consider about the placement of the air conditioning unit in your home office:
- Keep it away from light bulbs and other sources of heat as they could trigger the internal thermostat and keep the unit running continuously.
- Make sure that the unit is installed high enough because, as we all know, hot air rises. This means that when it is warmer the cold air from the unit will fall and cool your office more effectively.
- Position the unit so that it does not blow directly toward where you will be working as this can cause distractions.
